Musa Dwarf Cavendish

Please let my introduce you to my second favorite plant: the Musa Dwarf Cavendish aka the banana plant. This plant lives in tropical ( or warm places) and needs a lot of water. It has gorgeous big leaves and it will give after a couple of years little banana’s. It’s a difficult plant to have in your home because it needs a lot of sun and water. I give my musa 3 times water a week. The little you see here below is a cutting of the big one. The soil always needs to be moist and the oldest leaves will turn yellow after a while it’s normal because the energy goes to the newest leaves. You can cut the oldest leaves because they can look ugly but it’s not necessary.

Alocasia Zebrina

Meet our newest family member: The Alocasia Zebrina.

This is a family member of my favorite plant: The Alocasia, The Alocasia, native to Asia, is also called an Elephant Ear plant or African Mask plant because of their very large,  glossy, heart-shaped leaves with wavy edges. It gives a jungelicious feeling in your house. The nickname of the Alocasia Zebrina is the zebra plant. They need more care than the Yucca. The soil needs to stay moist and they need a lot of water( and love). They become really big(!). If you take good care of them but you need to watch out with animals and little children because they are poisonous.

Meet our new family member: the Yucca Elephantipes.

The Yucca originally can be found in North-,Central and South America. It belongs to the palm family. There are different kind of this species. This one called Yucca Elephantipes. They don’t grow really fast. You will see that the leaves are getting fuller in the spring/summer but that’s it. You can maintain them like a cactus: one per month little bit of water, a lot of sun and a lot of love. It looks a bit sad but it is still a baby yucca.

Do you have a yucca or do you want one?
